The Klipsch T5 II True Wireless in-ears come in a somewhat macho-looking charging case, but looks can be deceiving. Sound-wise, the T5 II is no rocker – more like a rather refined soul, you might say: hard shell, soft core. Their sound tuning is fully in line with Klipsch’s 60-year hi-fi tradition: a transparent, warm basic sound with pleasantly soft highs. The sound of the T5 II is amazingly detailed for a dynamic one-way loudspeaker, I didn’t miss a balanced-armature multi-way system at all! With the T5 II, Klipsch show that they are still justified in using a well-tuned dynamic driver. By the way, the T5 II are also available in silver as well as the dark gunmetal version and also in a sports version with earpieces and a waterproof charging case.

The Klipsch T5 Neckband is a pair of headphones whose unusual concept fully convinced me after initial scepticism. If you – like me – find yourself searching for something that you only just had in your hand, your search has, at last, come to an end with these in-ear plugs on the T5 neck strap. In this respect, the T5 is the ideal office headset, and it has made many hours of desk-based work more comfortable for me. The Klipsch T5 Neckband has the potential to become a true everyday headphone, the battery life is immense, and it has the sound to match: no matter where your playlist goes, the T5 gives compelling results. Unfortunately, the cable problems spoil the fun of these otherwise great headphones. Hopefully, Klipsch will improve on this, and in future, install a cable that is less sensitive to handling and contact noise.

With the Klipsch T5 II Wireless Sport, the name says it all; with their robust case and water- and dust-proof specification, they are ideal accessories for the rough and tumble of everyday outdoor life, from the beach to the mountains. The small earpieces support your workout with a physical and powerful sound that may not always bring out the last delicate subtlety from the music but is still fun to listen to. The decisive factor, however, is that these in-ears need to be firmly plugged into the ear canal of the user. This should not be a problem with the comprehensive selection of ear moulds and ear hooks included. Nevertheless, the physiognomy of the human ear varies, and there is no guarantee of a perfect fit. But that said – it’s a common operating risk when using in-ears. Where Klipsch could certainly improve would be with a firmware update with regard to the connection stability when making phone calls, which – quite in contrast to the music playback – was a bit shaky.
