Headphones for TVs

Anyone who has to turn up their television loud enough to understand every word could easily disturb others: the partner, roommate or neighbor, for example. If this is the case, it is worth buying a TV headphone. This type of headphone is usually characterized by the fact that it offers the best possible speech intelligibility.

In general, you should pay attention to the following important criteria before buying:

1. What connectivity does my TV offer?
Actually, all, even older models, offer a so-called mini-jack or RCA output. The mini jack is often a small picture of a headphone to see. Then you can connect the headset directly or the transmitter, if you have a wireless headset. Be sure to mute the TV’s internal speakers when you plug in the headphones.

2. Which design is perfect for me?
Wired headphones are generally cheaper because they do not need to have expensive wireless transmission tech built in it. However, sometimes the cable can be far too short, which limits the freedom of movement. Wireless headphones work via radio waves or Bluetooth (make sure your TV supports Bluetooth!), which allows free movement in the home.

3. How comfortable is it?
A TV headset must sit comfortably even after several hours of binge watching and it needs to be as light as possible. Do not be afraid to put several headphones in your shopping cart for an extensive testing. Hearing and wearing them in a shop near you only for five minutes is not enough!
