The on-ear wireless Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 delivers up to 60 hours of quality sound at home or on the move. With its exceptionally long battery life, adaptive ANC with transparency, and high-quality telephony features, this cleanly designed model comes across as both sophisticated and practical.

Standard accessories

The Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 arrives with a velvet drawstring pouch featuring a small inner pocket for accessories. Inside are a 1.8 m audio cable, which allows wired listening if required, and a USB charging cable ending in USB-A and USB-C connectors. A quick-start guide rounds out the bundle. As expected, the mini-jack connectors are gold-plated for long-term durability and reliable contact.

Quiet elegance

The Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 combines dark-silver matte aluminium with black accents and matching black synthetic leather on the headband and ear pads. Beneath the padding lies memory foam for a comfortable fit.

The arms fold inward, and the earcups can swivel 90 degrees, allowing the headphones to collapse into a compact form that fits easily into a rucksack or even a handbag. The overall design is minimalist and timeless, with Beyerdynamic describing the aesthetic as “Quiet Luxury”. Available finishes include black, brown and cream.

Small housings, big drivers

Despite its compact dimensions, the Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 houses the same 45 mm STELLAR.45 drivers found in the brand’s full-size studio headphones. Frequency response ranges from 20 Hz to 22 kHz, extending into the upper treble beyond typical human hearing.

Bluetooth 5.4 ensures reliable wireless performance, with multipoint pairing and Google Fast Pair supported. Alongside SBC and AAC, the Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 also offers aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, enabling high-quality, near-lossless wireless audio.

Lightweight comfort

Adjusting the headband is smooth but requires both hands for even extension, as the mechanism is ungrooved and slightly stiff. Once set, the 220 g frame feels featherlight, with no excess clamping force needed to maintain a secure fit—even with quick head movements. Comfort is excellent for extended listening sessions.

Battery life is equally impressive: up to 40 hours with ANC activated, or a remarkable 60 hours without. Fast charging provides 15 additional hours of playback from just 15 minutes of charging.

Personalisation via app

The multifunction button on the Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 can be customised in the Beyerdynamic app with up to four playback commands. The app also allows users to configure EQ, ANC modes, auto-shutdown timing, sidetone, Bluetooth LED, and a low-latency option for film or gaming. Spoken notifications, including battery status, can be individually enabled or disabled.

Precise, warm, authentic

Sonically, the Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 delivers a relaxed yet precise and authentic presentation. Bass is full-bodied, with clearly defined sub-bass extension and punch. Vocals sit naturally in the mix, though guitar-heavy tracks reveal a slight midrange resonance.

High frequencies are warm yet detailed, avoiding both sibilance and harshness. The super-treble sounds airy and open, while stereo imaging and depth provide convincing spatiality. Transients are sharply articulated, and even at high volumes the sound remains free of distortion. Noise isolation is good for an on-ear model, although not as complete as with over-ears. The small earcups and foldable design, however, keep weight and footprint pleasingly low.

Verdict

The Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 is a premium on-ear headphone that combines long-lasting battery performance with excellent sound, adaptive ANC, and stylish understated design. Its compact folding form makes it a practical travel companion, while studio-grade drivers and codec support deliver serious audio performance.

With a balanced, lively sound signature and just a touch of midrange resonance in guitar-led tracks, the Beyerdynamic Aventho 100 proves versatile across genres, podcasts, films, multimedia and gaming. Considering its premium build, rich features, and refined acoustic performance, the price-to-performance ratio feels entirely justified.
