Please check that your external device (smartphone, tablet, TV) supports these codecs. The SBC codec is the lowest common denominator that all devices must support.
For example, if you want to watch movies over headphones, it is important to choose headphones with low latency so that the audio/video offset is not a problem. In this case, look for “aptX Low Latency” or similar in the specifications of the headphones, or buy headphones that support the so-called “Gaming Mode”. This will also reduce the audio/video offset, but will usually reduce the Bluetooth range. - How good are the headphones? In our individual reviews, we go into detail about the sound characteristics of each pair of headphones. BUT: the ear is not an objective measuring instrument! Much of the evaluation of sound takes place in the brain, so it also has to do with experience and conditioning. There are also physiognomic characteristics and, of course, personal preferences. In short, we all hear differently.
That’s why it’s so important to try your headphones, so that you can decide for yourself whether you like the way they sound. It should also be clear that you can hardly compare the sound of a pair of £50 headphones with a pair of £1,000 headphones.
