Now Mackie has added three more pairs of headphones to the MP series: the MP-360, which I'm testing here, ranks in the middle of the hierarchy of the three MP newcomers.

I remember when I had the pleasure of testing Mackie's first three in-ear headphones about two years ago: The MP-120 , the MP-220 and the MP-240 were aimed at musicians and sound engineers who were looking for monitor headphones for use on stage, with FoH/monitor mixing desks or in the recording studio. Now Mackie has added three more technically advanced headphones to the MP-series: The MP-320 that I am testing here is higher in the price hierarchy than the MP-240 and the most affordable of the three new ones.

Mackie's entry into the headphone market can certainly be described as successful. Especially the – second place in terms of price – MC-250 which convinced us with their price-performance ratio. All three previous models in the series (MC-150, 250 and 350) had one thing in common: they were all closed designs. With the MC-450, Mackie now introduce their first studio headphones with an open back, and these have all the advantages associated with such a design, like less heat build-up and the feeling of still being in contact with your surroundings.
