The Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 is an over-ear Bluetooth headphone positioned in the premium segment. It aims to deliver studio sound for everyday wireless use. Its head tracking technology also promises an especially spatial 3D audio experience with Dolby Atmos.

Scope of delivery

The Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 comes with a 3.5 mm aux cable so it can be used wired if necessary. Power for wireless operation is provided by an internal battery, which can be recharged quickly via the included USB-C charging cable. A USB-A-to-USB-C adapter is also provided to ensure compatibility with a wide range of devices.

Also included is a perfectly fitting hard case that protects the headphones during transport and storage. For a more space-saving option, there’s also a drawstring fabric pouch. Everything you need for use at home, in the studio, or on the go is included.

Materials, workmanship & design

From the moment you unpack them, the high-quality materials and meticulous German manufacturing of the Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 stand out. The headband, finished in black and silver, is filled with memory foam to adapt perfectly to the shape of your head for comfortable wear.

The angled ear cups follow the natural position and shape of the ears for an ergonomic fit and optimal sound. Aluminium arms with swivel joints allow the Aventho 300 to be stored flat in its case, and the ear cups can also be folded in, making the package even more compact.

Wide audio spectrum

For drivers, Beyerdynamic has equipped the Aventho 300 with its newly developed STELLAR.45 technology, also used in the brand’s latest studio headphones. They deliver audio from 5 Hz to 22 kHz, extending deeper in the bass than the human ear can usually perceive and higher in the treble than the typical range of human hearing.

Bluetooth specs

To ensure high sound quality via Bluetooth, the Aventho 300 supports SBC and AAC, as well as lossless aptX Lossless, low-latency aptX Adaptive, and the LC3 codec based on the Low Energy Audio standard. This makes it highly versatile in codec support. With Bluetooth 5.4 on board, it also supports multipoint connections, enabling simultaneous pairing with a smartphone and a laptop, for example.

High wearing comfort

The headband adjusts to fit with solid click stops, and once set, it stays securely in place. Beyerdynamic has achieved a comfortable fit that is secure enough to prevent slipping without pressing on the head. The ear cushions’ inner openings are ideally sized to fully enclose the ears. A fontanelle cut-out in the headband padding reduces pressure on the crown of the head.

Practical handling

Bluetooth pairing and ANC mode activation are handled via classic buttons on the underside of the right ear cup. A transparency mode is part of the adaptive noise cancelling system, allowing you to block out or let in environmental sounds as needed. Notably, battery life reaches up to 50 hours with ANC enabled.

Playback control is via a touch surface on the outside of the right ear cup, which is intuitive and eliminates the need to hunt for buttons. There’s also auto-pause when the headphones are put on or taken off, making operation even easier.

App integration

When powered on, a multilingual voice prompt announces the remaining battery life. These and all other prompts can be enabled or disabled in the Beyerdynamic app. The app also allows fine sound adjustment via a 5-band equaliser, ANC mode selection, voice assistant activation, and control over Dolby Atmos and head tracking.

Further customisation includes wear detection, auto power-off, and sidetone adjustment to improve voice clarity during calls. Even the brightness of the indicator LEDs can be set.

Head tracking & Dolby Atmos

With Dolby Atmos and head tracking enabled, the Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 creates a new listening experience: as you turn your head, the perceived audio source stays in place. The effect is pronounced and not directly comparable to sitting in front of nearfield monitors, but it’s still an enjoyable experience, especially for gaming and watching films. Once accustomed to it, the added dimension can also make music listening more engaging.

How the Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 sounds

The Aventho 300 delivers powerful sub-bass, punchy bass, and warm yet present mids for clear, detailed reproduction and high speech intelligibility.

The transition into the treble avoids any harshness or sibilance, while the highs are detailed yet smooth. The super-high frequencies sound uncompressed and open.

Fast transients are reproduced dynamically and precisely, and the depth layering is impressive. The stereo image is naturally wide and gains extra spatiality when Dolby Atmos is activated. Even at high volumes, the sound remains distortion-free, aided by strong passive isolation that allows for loud listening without disturbing others.

Conclusion

The Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 combines Dolby Atmos, head tracking, and ANC with transparency mode in a premium wireless over-ear package. It delivers first-class sound that can be tailored to your preferences, offers excellent ergonomic comfort, intuitive touch controls, and up to 50 hours of battery life for long, fatigue-free listening sessions.

It’s hard to think of a use case where the Aventho 300 wouldn’t excel – whether for everyday music listening, travel, or studio work. Considering it can replace multiple headphones for different purposes, the price is justified. It handles all genres with ease, from urban music to pop, rock, classical, and more.

Music and film fans, gamers, musicians, and home recording enthusiasts – even small project studio operators – will find the Beyerdynamic Aventho 300 a powerful, appealing companion for demanding needs.
